Objectives and challenges

State-of-the-art equipment standard for new thermal spa

The exterior of the new FORTYSEVEN wellness complex is already arousing curiosity: designed by star architect Mario Botta, it is a 160-metre-long low-rise building with a natural stone façade that opened in November 2021.

Baden is the perfect location for the high performance standards of FORTYSEVEN, which can look back on over 2,000 years of tradition. Even the ancient Romans bathed here and appreciated the warm thermal water. At 47 degrees (hence the name FORTYSEVEN), it flows exclusively from natural springs.

High-quality furniture should be functional and easy to clean

Managing Director Nina Suma explains: 'We offer visitors unique, visual-architectural impressions in combination with a wellness centre that boasts state-of-the-art technology and equipment.' She adds: 'Due to the positioning of FORTYSEVEN, it was also important for us to only use very high-quality furniture that is both functional and easy to clean. After all, we're not talking about a hotel with 30 rooms, but a thermal spa with an average of 800 visitors a day.'

For the cosmetic treatment rooms in the spa area, the company was looking for a product that would be able to warm and dry towels, take up very little space in the room and be easy to install even after the shell construction had been completed.

The Zehnder Zenia is a multifunctional all-rounder

By switching on a powerful boost heater, for example, you can heat a room by a few degrees in a very short space of time. In addition, the Zehnder Zenia thermal comfort unit always guarantees a tidy room as up to three bath and shower towels can be hung behind a closed infrared heated glass front and quickly warmed up and dried.
